FCIC Board Approves Two New Livestock Programs for 2003

The Federal Crop Insurance Corporation (FCIC) has announced approval of the Livestock Risk Protection (LRP) program for feeder cattle and fed cattle. The programs will be available for the 2003 crop year. LRP for fed cattle will be available in Illinois, Iowa, and Nebraska and LRP for feeder cattle will be available in Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, Nevada, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, and Wyoming. Proposed expansion of the Iowa LRP swine program was disapproved and the LRP dairy submission was tabled.
