Communities, Children, and Families

Rain and Hail contributes to programs that help fulfill important needs within rural communities. These programs work to enrich the lives of local citizens, providing a brighter tomorrow. Rain and Hail insures farmers throughout the United States and Canada and has made a sincere commitment to give back to the people and communities which they serve.

The Future of Rural America

Rain and Hail lends support to the Farm Safety 4 Just Kids program. The objective of the Farm Safety program is to increase public awareness and understanding of the hazards to children on the farm. The non-profit organization serves families and communities in the United States and Canada.

Farm Safety 4 Just Kids provides resources and training to individuals and communities to conduct farm safety awareness and education programs. These programs work to motivate and empower individuals and communities to make positive changes regarding farm safety and health issues.

Realizing the significance that today’s actions have on tomorrow, Rain and Hail cosponsors the FFA Agriculture Production Proficiency Award—Diversified Crop Production. This award is one of 49 proficiency program areas that FFA offers to young people to stimulate interest in specific agricultural occupations. The program also provides incentives for FFA members to achieve academic and career skills success.

Employee Involvement

Listed below are various service projects RH employees are proud to participate in throughout the year:

• Food donations to help feed the hungry in local communities
• The Salvation Army Spring Cleaning Drive for donations that can be sold while providing work opportunities and other programs for the disabled.
• Habitat For Humanity—Employees volunteer labor, money, and materials to build safe and secure housing for families in need.
• Employee pledges to the United Way including a 100% company match.
• Blood Drive—Through out the year, employees participate in company sponsored blood drives.
• Family Sponsorship—Employees “adopt” families in need donating necessities, toys, clothing and household goods, amongst other gifts.

Donation requests are submitted annually by Rain and Hail employees and the groups or programs soliciting help. Decisions regarding donations and support are made by the Rain and Hail Sponsorship Committee.
