• New Congressional leadership in committees following 2006 elections
• Congress and the Administration will focus on Farm Bill changes
• Administration and Congressional proposals to reduce or eliminate crop insurance
• Continued desire from public and Congress for new programs
• Work to secure language to block PRP for 2008
• Requests for PAC support for 2008 elections

Proposed Society Actions

• Maintain a strong Society membership and continue to maintain a strong PAC
• Continue to increase our effectiveness at grass roots. Continue communications to members via email updates on Washington issues affecting crop insurance
• Capitalize on local opportunities to provide input on crop insurance issues to legislators and maximize the effectiveness of our PAC dollars
• Support efforts of AACI and other organizations with views similar to the Society in building coalitions to support crop insurance
